Make your own *birdhouse*...

...by following my simple instructions :) and you have two options here!!

The first option:
  • Go to Waitrose and buy some of these. You can either eat the delicious contents...or carefully remove the entire packet from the cardboard carton...in which case, once you've decorated the birdhouse, you can pop them back in...and you have a double whammy of a gift!! {I ate mine...sorry Rosie!! lol}
  • Cover the back and sides with Addison pp's by K&Co, and use a circle punch to punct a circle {doh!} out of the tall back section. I used Mod Podge to adhere the pp.
  • Cut a strip of pp to fit the front of the box, and punch a circle before you adhere it. You may not be able to punch the circle as high as the one on the box...in which case, do what I did and disguise the gap with a length of ribbon. ;)
  • Continue to decorate your box as you choose...I used sequin flowers and brads, doodled and added a stamped message which reads *home tweet home*. I stuck small beads all the way around the opening, to add a bit of extra dimension, and added a stamped bird...because I thought a birdhouse without a bird was a bit sad! Then I added a bit more ribbon and a word sticker...just because I don't like to stop until a job is completely done! lol
  • Mod Podge over the whole thing {bar the ribbons} for longevity.
  • Sit back and admire your handy work!

The second option:

  • Choose a double sided patterned paper and use the template to make your own box, whatever size you like...but this way you don't get the tiffin...which I consider a shame!!

Here is my template, which I have designed for the Craft Robo, and at its current size it makes a tiny version of the box, which I really like :) If you want it larger, simply scan/print/copy it to the size you choose!

Enjoy!
