so how did you spend Mothering Sunday?

i spent it with my FIL, his nibs and uncle Alan...not a mother in sight...in fact the closest we got to a mother was a lamb with twins in the barn...3 days old and soooooo soft...twit that i am, i forgot to take my camera...so you'll just have to take if from me...that was one proud mum...and the lambs will be ready in a few short weeks for mint sauce and gravy!! ;0)

i didn't totally abandon my Mum tho...i couldn't be with her...but i did send her this card...and the canvas too...as she has a thing for purple {like mother, like daughter}...and a love of dragonflies on her pond...so as you can imagine...she rather liked them!

what i've used is some very old K&Co dragonfly and lilac dimensional stickers {that i know she loves because she stopped me ditching them last weekend!}...they are actually from the first scrapping kit i ever bought...and it feels great to finally use them! i've also used lots of distressing ink, lots of Tim's floral and foliage stamps...his funny speckled texture stamp...his glossy accents...his rock candy distress stickles...and well...everything i could find that was pretty and iridescent!
the whole canvas is sealed with Marine varnish...so its even wipe proof should you get too many touchy feely fingers wanting to investigate it!
hope you had a happy mother's day...we really missed my MIL...but its good to be together...and to remember that life goes on, regardless...
thanks for stopping by,
alixxxxx

You sound just like my OH talking about the mint sauce and gravy! :P

That canvas and card is just beautiful. I'm not surprised Mum was very chuffed with it :)

I had mint sauce and gravy too. My brother made a lovely roast dinner for my mum, my hubby, son and me. It felt a little strange as 3 children were missing - my 2 nieces at Uni and my elder son in Canada. Good day though.

Very pretty card and canvas. K&Co Juliana was my favourite for ages. I think I wore it out! Did you watch 'Lambing Live' last week? It was soo cute - all those lambs. TFS. ~Glen~
