She Art week 3

the third week's challenge on Christy's fun she art course...was to create a self~portrait she art girl...and i decided to do one featuring me and the hubby...bet you didn't know i was married to Paul Weller, eh? ;) actually...i think he's aiming for Dave Grohl...but he's just too blonde!! lol


i used layers and layers of mica sprays, **i love Dyan** :) and alot of gold acrylic paint...this large blob here is to cover up some stamping i did but hated!! lol so as usual...its a learning curve...as you'll see i'm experimenting with different levels of distressing/painting/etc to see which i prefer...which do you prefer? {last week i did alot less...}



i guess i'm also still finding my *style* for these paintings...and this one turned out a bit like a scrapbook page...but its a very forgiving format...and i really like it...hope you do too...and i hope you've all signed up for the next course??? ;)

happy days...

I just love this photo of my Mum and her sisters, taken at my own sister's wedding! They are so seldom all together {one of them lives in New Zealand...*points out*; I'd be furious if my sister moved anywhere near that far away...are you listening Anna? ;-)}, so when they are all in one place there is always a ceremonial taking of the *group shot* lol This one is especially special as it was such a fabulous day, the first family wedding for 25 years, and of course because they are all smiling...they are sisters you know...its not all smiles! muahahahaha!!!

should you only scrap *happy*?

I think its important to sometimes acknowledge life's worries and more unpleasant events as they come along. It certainly seems to help me accept them and move on...


This LO is a prime example...its not a *happy scrappy* page...but neither is it a *woe is me* page, doing it brought tears to my eyes...but also a smile and a sense of calm...life is what it is, and I'm embracing it all :) The materials and details are here.

So what do you guys think? Do you ever do this? Do you think it can help? and don't worry...I won't be sharing lots of these pages...I do believe in emphasing the positive the majority of the time!

On another tack...what a shock to see the sunshine today!!!! It was soo yummy I went out and fed the ducks and had a cup of tea by the river...you see...its *a good life*...and I hope it was good for you today...

There always seems to be more things to do at bedtime, than I can think of {or have time for} in the day...so I've made myself a cute little book to write down the things I have *to do...* figuring, if I write them down...I don't have to lie awake worrying about whether or not I'll remember to do them in the morning...{which I invariably don't!} Wish me luck!!! lol

a proper bag lady!!

I bought this hessian bag for £2 from a local shop...and I've jazzed it up using my DT kit. Rather chuffed with it actually! lol
