a LO that makes me smile...

a super quick LO today...using a sketch by Lisa Day from her 28 days of sketches class over on BPC...i love having a sketch when i'm in a hurry...and i love that i managed to scrap all these cute photos that have been collecting in my *not used* pile for a while all in one go! :)

it may not suprise you to know that this is sketch one...and she's already onto sketch three...but hey ho...i knew i wouldn't do them all ;) how many do you think i'll get done next week??? huh? lol

caption competition! :)

a little bit of fun for the week ahead...and a fun prize too :)

firstly a LO...this week i've been trying to finally scrap the photos from my hen~do...my lovely sister took it upon herself to organize a fun hippy themed fancy dress party for me which was a hoot...although i think i might have been the most enthusiastic about the dressing up part!! lol

i've used a sketch for this photo of me {a rarity in that i actually like this photo of me} and its from the fabulous Pencillines sketch site...check it out here. The sketch is actually for their design team search...and i haven't applied...but i liked the sketch so i've used it anyway!

with the hippy theme, it was important to include a serious amount of flower power on the page...and i really like to mix and match styles so...i've included printed flowers with brads for middles...

i also created my own hippy daisies by die cutting some orange leather i had from a sofa swatch and filling the middles with enamel accents and micro beads...and drawing on some simple stems with a white pen...

and i finished my trio of different floral embellishments with a layered flower created from a felt shape overlayed with a fabric on and a cordroy brad...i love how all the flowers work together...and i hope you do too!

now...on to the fun caption competition...one of the reasons i've struggled so much to scrap this event is because everytime i get the photos out...i get the giggles and get lost in the memories of this fun evening...there are so many funny/silly/amusing photos but i've chosen this one for you all to write an amusing caption to:

woyww..? today its sunshine and rainbows!!

hi gang,

i can hardly believe it...but that funny thing in the photo is the *sunshine*...oh how i love when it pours into the craftroom :0)

and that there LO contains my rainbow of brads...the one i mentioned yesterday that sent the good ladies of my crop into stash~using~panic!!

this weekend i was due to run a class at our local crop...and i wasn't well so i wasn't able to go...bummer for me...but the good ladies of the crop carried on regardless and did the class without me!!

the sad thing is that i didn't get to see all the different interpretations of my sketch...so i thought i'd open it up to you guys...and anyone who fancies having a go and leaves me a link to their LO will go in a hat to win a page kit {i can't tell you how much i love making up page kits...its crazy!!}...i have no idea how many of you, or indeed if any of you will join in...so i'll make up 3 kits for 3 randomly drawn winners...go on...you just might win...and you'll certainly make me happy!!

unlike most sketch sites...i'm not going to show you my LO just yet...i'll give you a few days to think of your own ideas...but let it be said that a few people reportedly had palpitations at the number of brads i used to create it!!

whose shoes???

...it comes round so quickly...today was our monthly crop day...and as usual, i spent all day chatting and eating biscuits {thanks katy for the smarties cookies!}...i did the majority of one LO...but i don't like it at all...so i'm not showing you...and there is nothing you can say to make me change my mind!! lol


what i will share with you though, is the LO i did last night for Shimelle's class...she wanted us to go smaller than normal, and keep it simple:

this is a 6x12 page for my Book of Me that never got finished...and i used one of her sketches cut in half...and tried to limit myself to red and purple, with minimal embellishments...i actually quite like the page...but i'm not sure it looks as though i did it!

if you look really carefully you will see that i added a typed version of my journalling over the top of my handwriting, because this clean style just looked all wrong with even my quite nice writing on it! ;0)

so there you have a LO about my favourite shoes that looks like they are somebody else's shoes...that can't be right, can it??? lol

pop up poppies...

if you're a UKScrapper...you may have seen this LO...its my interpretation of the challenge set by my teamies this week...using my sketch...see here if you've missed it!

i took the photos in my FIL's beautiful garden...he has an amazing collection of poppies and these whoppers are one of my favourties...
the floral embellishment along the bottom is made from cutting cardstock with a sizzix die and then colouring it with distressing inks...and several layers of distressing stickles...this is also how i've coloured the title letters...

the flower in the middle is a chip shape which i've embellished with black gems and black stickles to give it a more poppy~like centre...and the tiny flowers are punched out of pp and them dotted with black stickles in the centre and raised up on foam squares...

there is an extra photo and some journalling underneath the biggest poppy...which is actually a photo that i've cut up to create an embellishment for the flap...

Saturday's class...

Here it is, the class LO I did for saturday's crop. For some reason, unknown to me, I'm unable to upload the sketch or the template I created for the tag...so if you want to recreate this, you'll have to work that out for yourself I'm afraid!! Fortunately, its all fairly simple! :)

I've used Addison pp's, cut out shapes an layered them. I've added lots of doodling in a white pen and dots of Liquid Pearls. I've also used a large bloom folded in half to *crown* the larger photo, some word stickers, a journalling tag by K&Co. and a few gems. I hope you like it! It was so cool to see everybodies different versions at the crop...and they were all fab!! You girls are all so talented {apart from Ruth; she's rubbish ;p }.

This other LO is the one I did at the crop. Photos of my red hair...which has gone again now...if you didn't catch it...here it is immortalised for all time!! lol Mostly I've used Scarlet Lime goodies here, Katy's scissors to distress the green paper, and some chipboard shapes I snaffled from Rosie. Thanks guys!! xxx
