meet the *funny folk*

we are lucky enough to live in a town that has several annual music festivals...and each year, i really look forward to the folk festival. i love the hordes of Morris dancers, Clog dancers and assorted folky types that converge on the town...the music makes me feel super British and very nostalgic for the village Fetes of my childhood...and the costumes are just so much fun! These shots were taken from our front step during this year's parade...you see...i am lucky...i don't even have to leave the building to join in the fun!! ;0)

i made this LO as a response to this week's Love your pictures, Love your pages prompts from Shimelle...she has had us thinking about multiphoto layouts and one of her ideas was to use a grid to help them read as a unit...mine is more of a block than a grid...but the general idea is the same...the yellow pp and the bunting are from the latest Scrapagogo kit...its a super one...just typical when i've had to cancel my sub!! the rest is from my scraps and assorted stash...

i was especially pleased with how the title came together...i love mixing different letter stickers and using up what i've got at the same time as creating something unique :0) if you look at the letters spelling *folk*...they are white thickers coloured with ink...but it would have been a better idea to colour them before i stuck them down really, as i made a bit of a black splodge!

is there anything special about your town or your home that you've scrapped? i'd love to hear you ideas...and i might just make a special album all about that...

don't you just love *happy girls*???

all throughout growing up, and early adulthood...i've always had a lot more male friends than female ones...they seemed to be more into the things i was into {music festivals mainly...and the seaside in winter or at night~time}...i loved it...and a couple of *them*, too ;0)

regulars will know that i have a chronic illness...trust me...there is a link here...and its this:
alot of guys just don't *get* being ill and having to rest...they don't handle it well when you can't do the things you used to do...and they struggle alot when you're angry and frustrated because they just want to *fix* things...so, to cut a long story short...i have lost touch with alot of my male friends since i became ill...and there was a *friendship vacuum* that i needed to fill...

and these girls are the ones that filled it!
i didn't realise how special girl~friends could be...how fun it is to drink pink plonk and be giggly...to drown our sorrows in chocolate and scrapping...and to mutually *ooooh* and *ahhhhhhh* over the latest pp's or embellishments...our sorrows are actually minimal...because our lives are generally good...but together...we are seriously *happy girls* :0)

i love you girlies xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

ok, so apologies if i've bored you with all that sentimental waffle...i'll try not to indulge myself too often ;0) and i'll leave you with a close~up of this flower embellishment i made and i just love! the pp and the ribbon flower came from this month's Scrapagogo kit...but i have altered the flower by removing the bling centre and sewing a button in its place...and i've added a stick pin to each petal {also from this kit}...and a tiny floral rubon to the corner...do you like it?

right...off to chill...the heat and i do not get on well...happy day to all who pass by...and to all the people especially who've been leaving me a little love...you girls are just what the Dr. ordered! :0)
