...and a few more wedding crafts...
This stunning cake was made by my mum {top layer~madiera cake}, his mum {bottom layer~fruit cake} and the icing and decorations were made by Freda & Mike. The sugar flowers are sweet peas and lisianthus, just like my bouquet and the table decorations, and the mini-card which mimicks the invitations...oooh...have i shown you those? These flowers must have taken hours and hours to make and then to paint...but they are absolutely awesome, and we have kept them in a beautiful cheese dome so we can look at them whenever we want!! :) Thanks so much guys, you rock!
And now for a super, special make...the beautiful bracelet that the groom made for me, and had my sister give me on the morning of the wedding. Awwwww...for a cold-hearted rugby fan, he can be quite romantic sometimes! and he does make the most exquisite jewellery :) Lucky me!!
The beads are soft pink and white pearls, and all the links and drops are made by hand...Thankyou my darling...I love it, and I love you xxx

a couple more simple wedding ideas...
i had all my friends and family collect empty jars in various sizes and shapes, and we made detachable wire hooks to hang them in the trees, then popped a tea light in each one. by daylight, they were barely visible, but when they were all lit {75 of them!} in the evening, the trees seemed to come alive. They were also jolly handy as we gave them out to people to help them find thier way across the field in the dark to thier cars, or to the road!! Now lots of our friends have a simple lantern or two on thier patios!! :)
This was another idea I really thought worked well. I made my own hairpiece, with an enormous pink rose {originally part of an artificial bouquet), surrounded it with white feathers {to match the feathery fairy lights in the marquee} and then glued the whole thing to a hair slide. Voila...instant flowers in the hair...and no worrying that the petals will fall off during the day!
Finally, because its me...and I'm one obsessive scrapper...I had to have scrapping at my wedding! We set up a table in one corner with all the prerequisite supplies, had an usher take a polariod photo of all the guests and then they were instructed to scrap the guest book at thier leisure!! It was a genius idea, because we had an instant scrapbook to look at first thing the next morning...and it was amazing how much people who don't normally scrap seemed to enjoy it. In fact, we even managed to convert a few people who ended up asking me for lessons!! muahahahaha ;)

as promised...
The bunting was a major undertaking. We had hundreds of metres of it...all made from old bits of fabric donated to us by friends of the MIL. She, the groom, and I spent hours cutting triangular flag shapes out with pinking shears...and then the lovely Rosie sewed the whole thing into 4 amazing strings! It was so gorgeous...all round the Farm...from the marquee, to the carparking field and guiding guests into the garden for thier fizz and photographs!
when the guests made thier ways to the marquee...they were guided to their own tables by our table planner.
This was made by stamping the same swirl {Autumn Leaves} that we used on the invitations, adding Prima flowers and pearl brads {Papermania}. We named our tables after herbs, so each table had a botanical drawing of the herb, the name for those who don't love their herbs like we do! and obviously a list of names. In order to find their seat...all you had to do was match the herb...and bingo! :)
to make the table names, I repeated the botanical drawings and herb names and laminated them {thanks again Rosie for letting me use the laminator!!} I painted kebab sticks pink and white and we wound garden wire around the top and into a swirl, which held the herb card in place. The other end was stuck into a jam jar, full of marshmallows...which added the right colours...and kept any hungry people satiated in the wee small hours!
each table was also decorated with a floral teapot full of sweet peas and herbs fresh from the garden! Thanks to my Mum, sister, MIL and aunties for collecting all the teapots...and to the lovely Wendy for growing all the sweetpeas for us!
Ok, that's your lot for today, but maybe some of these ideas will inspire you? or maybe you have some great ideas of your own to share? don't be shy...i'd love to hear what you've done for your weddings... :)

ta daaaaa!
This album began its life as the mini Scrapaganza in Stratford this year, as a class taught by the unrepressable Donna Downey! It bears very little resemblance to hers, but what is the same is the way the album is cut up, in staggered sections, the stash used is partly from the kit {the swirls and the crackle paint i've used on them and the ribbons}. The stamps i've used are fancy pants and and cherry artes.
I can't find a link to Donna's version atm...but here is the album as done by someone else in the class, and it looks very much like the original. Michelle has done an awesome job, huh?

it's coming....
its based very loosely on the Donna Downey class from Scrapaganza...but it doesn't really look anything like hers...just that i've used the same stash...and cut up my book the same way.
too dark to photograph just now ;)
